Belief is a word meaninga foundation you hold as given and stand by, whatever the register — personal, philosophical, civic or formal.

It is not refuted by counterexample: a belief is contested only by an incompatible belief, and the platform keeps the rival variants with their objection histories rather than forcing a resolution that does not exist.
